Founded in 1457, the University of Freiburg is one of the oldest German universities and is now one of the nation’s leading research and teaching institutions. Today more than 21,500 students are enrolled at the University of Freiburg. The 11 faculties of the University of Freiburg include a wide range of research areas such as Theology, Law, Economics and Behavioral Sciences, Medicine, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Humanities, Mathematics and Physics, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Earth Sciences, Biology, Forest and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, and Computer Science.
