Data Resources

OpenTox data resource work aims to provide high-quality toxicity data for (Q)SAR model development, validation and database queries from multiple distributed resources. OpenTox supports the creation of dictionaries and ontologies, that describe the relations between chemical and toxicological data and experiments and to develop novel techniques for the retrieval and quality assurance of toxicological information.

Development tools of interest include those for chemical syntax checking, structure consolidation (e.g. in respect to protonation status, tautomerism, ...), the automated detection of identical experiments (e.g. via literature citations) and the identification of inconsistent data that requires manual inspection.

An overview of current OpenTox Data Access components is give in the Components Data Access section.

A description of the OpenTox Data Access interface specification is given in the Interfaces section.
