Collaborative Protege

"Collaborative Protege is an extension of the existing Protege system that supports collaborative ontology editing as well as annotation of both ontology components and ontology changes."

Login

  • Start your local Protege program (you should at least use version 3.4.8 and higher). Note, Protege 4.* is not compatible with collaborative Protege yet.
  • On the first screen click  Open Other... .

  •  On the Open Project dialog click the Server button.

  • Insert protege.opentox.org for the Host Machine Name.
    Insert your User Name and Password.
    If you do not have an user account see Get User Account
    You have to create a seperate useraccount for the Collaborative Protege system. You can not use the Opentoxpage-account. But it is possible to create your new Protege-Account with the same username and password.
  • Press OK.
  • Select the Collaborative Opentox project at the next dialog screen and press OK.

Get a user account

You have to create a separate user-account for the Collaborative Protege system. You can not use the OpenTox-page-account. But it is possible to create your new Protege-Account with the same user-name and password.

If you do not have a user account do the following:

  • Click on New User at the Open Project dialog screen.

  • Insert username and password.

  •  After a successful creation of a new user you can login to the Collaborative Protege system. !!! Now you only have privileges to view the Opentox Ontology !!!.
